Have you ever had a day when you preferred to just hang out with your fur baby over interacting with humans? There are definitely days when I would much rather just hang out with my cat, Tana, and not deal with humans. We will just sit and watch TV together in the evening. Or I will hit the snooze too many times on a weekend morning just so that we can continue to nap together before getting our day started. Fur babies can often be the best company.
Am I the only person?
I’m sure that I’m not the only one who is generally a social person but who also has the occasional need to hang with my cat over interacting with humans. Or am I? Why is that? Am I anti-social? Am I introverted in general? I would say no and no. I think it’s because Tana isn’t judgmental – although some do say that cats are all judgmental. He also gives me my space when I need or want it. We do have that eye to eye/I get you, you get me thing going on.
Honestly, though, as he ages (at this writing, he is pushing 14 years old), he has become more and more of a momma’s boy. He definitely likes to be near me more than before. And, I admit that I’m definitely wrapped around his little paw. So, I will pick him up for snuggles just to see his cute little face get all content and happy-looking.
What about you?
I’d love to hear from the other parents of fur babies out there. Are there days when you would much rather hang out with your fur babies than to be around other human beings? If you’d like to share your thoughts, I invite you to go for it! I am very sure that I’m not the only person who has those moments when humans just aren’t number one on my priority list.
