Hi y’all! So, I decided to dictate into my phone as I’m out on a walk, and then I will write out this blog post when I get back home. I just felt the need to gather my thoughts, and what better time to do it than on a walk on a beautiful day? So, yep, there might be a little rambling going on. But, hey, it’s all good, right? Just go for it!
And, well, as I’m out here in the beautiful weather, the first thing I think about is the fact that it is now Spring. I suppose that depending on which area of the country you’re in, you’re either seeing the typical Spring or not. I know that there’s some snow around. But where I am, it’s absolutely gorgeous out.
So you might be wondering what Spring means to me. Well, to me, Spring is a time for renewal and reawakening and the freshness of it and growth and all of that. The beautiful part of that is everything that has gone dormant with Winter can be replaced by the beauty of that which grows in the Spring. This can be different things to different people – it can be leaves on the trees or the flowers sprouting from the ground. It can be the growth or a new birth of whatever is most significant to you.
Or, it can be a sense of reawakening within yourself. It can be something that is maybe a thought or an idea – a desire that had been dormant within you that maybe all of a sudden you’re thinking gosh now is the time for me to rethink things and do them.
For me, as I’ve grown older, my thinking and personal motto have changed. I’ve been doing things that I never would have imagined myself doing previously. My new motto is “Eff it, just go for it.” And, I must say that it’s actually been working well for me lately. I’ve been taking vocal lessons – which will be the subject of a future blog post. I went ahead and dropped all the weight I needed to drop, I got a facelift, and various other things. It’s been a bit of a rebirth or reawakening within myself.
It’s very emotionally refreshing. I’m not as held back or held down by concerns about things as much. Sure, I have responsibilities, so I’m still aware of them. But I’m just basically doing what I want, when I want.
When it comes to just doing things. if there’s something you’ve always wanted to do but haven’t done…follow my lead and just say, “Eff it, just go for it.” What’s really holding you back? If there’s not something physically or psychologically holding you back, just do it! I know in some cases there is a true physical or true psychological reason that holds people back from doing things – more than just hesitation. If your limitations are real, then I totally understand that.
However, if your limitations are self-imposed and can be broken through, then now is the time to go for it. Why are you not doing what you really want to do? Are you holding yourself back out of some kind of fear of the unknown? Maybe you’re concerned about some kind of failure. I can say in all honesty, “Been there, done that!”
So, I say to you, “Eff it, just go for it!” So far, it’s been working out well for me. Sure, there’s more that I want to do. I want to do more singing, and there are house-related things I want to do. On that front, I am saving up my money so I’m not saddled by debt. That way, I can pay cash and then just enjoy it. There’s also more traveling that I want to do.
Also, I’ve been expanding my circle of friends. That has been helpful, too, because in expanding my circle, I have been expanding my own personal horizons as well. I’ve experienced new things that I might not have experienced in my old circle of friends. Nothing bad about my existing circle of friends – I’m just expanding. *smiles*
So, I encourage you to take this opportunity to think – or maybe even NOT think. At least, don’t think too hard about it, ya know what I mean? Just, take this time and do it for you.
You’re #1, right? Just go for it.
I’d love to hear your thoughts. Are you signed up to leave comments on my blog? If so, yay! And, if not, why not? I would love to see comments. Let’s make this an interactive gathering! Tell me what you’ve done. What new things have come into your life that you’ve said, “Eff it, just go for it.” I’m eager to hear from you now!
